90 in 90: Southampton 3 Arsenal 2

By Alex Crook

Arsenal’s 22-match unbeaten run was brought to a shuddering halt as Charlie Austin’s late header led struggling Southampton to a thrilling 3-2 win.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan had had twice come to the Gunners’ rescue by cancelling out Danny Ings’ headed brace.

But super sub Austin’s 85th minute header after Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno had flapped at Shane Long’s cross proved decisive.

It was the perfect way for Saints new manager Ralph Hasenhuttl to mark his first home game in charge as the south coast side climbed out of the relegation zone.
